Payton has recently joined WORKSBUREAU as an architect in training. She earned a Bachelor’s in Architecture with a minor in Sustainability from Arizona State University in 2023 and completed her graduate degree there in 2026. Her experience includes healthcare, transit, and commercial projects with several firms in the valley.
She is inspired by a childhood deeply rooted in nature along the Oregon coast and the Colorado mountains and is drawn to spaces that provide similar serenity and beauty. Her interests in architecture include biomimicry, the integration of natural design principles, as well as the incorporation of organic materiality. Through this work, she hopes to contribute to thoughtful, environmentally responsive architecture and community-oriented design.
Payton spends most of her free time tending to her many houseplants with the help of her orange cat, Bagel. She also enjoys searching the farmer’s markets of the valley for the best kombucha, or as an Oregonian at heart, escaping the heat on her trusty SUP at a local body of water.
